Printshop Tour | Problems Printing
We visited Tom Kracauer a number of years ago at his previous space on LA’s east side and were pretty blown away with the scale he was working in from such a modest studio space. He’s now leveled up in both size and ambition, starting Problems Printing, his new studio which is now run alongside Director, Sam Keller.
Together, Tom and Sam are looking ahead to initiating their own print publishing projects alongside contract printing work and sharing their new editions at a select number of upcoming art fairs. We already had a peek at some very technically challenging projects they’re setting for themselves and are excited to see what comes out of the studio in the coming months.
This tour will be of particular interest to folks who are thinking about setting up a printshop in a big, open industrial space as Tom has found some creative ways of separating the dark/light and wet/dry areas required for a well-functioning screenprinting shop.
