Travelogue: Isle of Skye

When Graham and I got married last year (pics here those who want to peep) I walked down the aisle to a piper playing “Over the Sea to Skye.” So when our summer plans this year looked like they would include a drive into the Scottish Highlands I was eager to make that storied isle one of our stops.

When planning overseas trips I can get a little caught up in being sure I’m going to the “best”, “most beautiful” spots in any given location and I’m glad I loosened up a bit for this trip because in Skye Every.Spot.Is.Gorgeous. It was beautiful in the rain, beautiful when the rain stopped and rainbows appeared, beautiful in the dramatic light of clouds about to given way to more rain.

I didn’t take thousands of pics because at times the scenery was almost too sublime to try and frame in a photograph. But I still tried! Some of my favorites are below.
