Studio Visit | The Aesthetic Union, San Fransisco

On Friday we spent a gloriously sunny day traipsing around San Francisco. After a lunch at Tartine Manufactory and a non-stop *heart eye emoji* look through Heather Ceramics we dropped into The Aesthetic Union. This letterpress shop / stationary, fine art and supply store is run by James Tucker and he generously gave us a look around. 

 

James is a MICA grad and has been working in print in San Francisco for around 10 years. The fun thing about his vision for The Aesthetic Union is how much emphasis he places on doing inventive work in print rather than churning out wedding jobs. He showed us some of his personal projects that involved some amazing indigo emboss transfers from Japanese kendo cloth that we've included pics of below.
