Botanic Gardens at Smith College, MA

This past weekend we were in the Berkshires and took the opportunity to visit a Botanic Garden (our favorite thing!) and this time we headed to Smith College in Northampton, MA.  The gardens are beautifully modest and were designed by the godfather of Landscape Architecture, Frederick Law Olmsted. They're not surprisingly right next to the horticulture building and overlook the nearby boathouse and lake. If you're passing through Northampton they're a lovely spot to visit (and while you're there, grab a piece of cake from Roost!!)
