STANDARD FRAMING:

For our Standard Framing we have worked with online framing company Simply Framed to select a framing option that we think works best across our range of prints and allows for the most seamless purchase.  We have selected their WHITE profile with white mat board to best display our prints.

WHAT TYPE OF FRAMES ARE USED?

Simply Framed uses the highest quality frames, produced by manufacturers here in the U.S.A. If you know frames, then you’ll recognize Larson Juhl and Studio, as they are the industry leaders and both companies also pride themselves on responsibly sourced materials.

WHAT TYPE OF GLASS IS USED?

UV-filtering plexiglass is used for all frames, an option that has become the industry standard. Chances are you will be moving and plexiglass is lighter, scratch-resistant & shatter-resistant (essential for shipping). It also provides more UV protection and less-glare than glass. While a bit more expensive than glass, the quality and protection plexiglass offers is so good, most art sellers and galleries are now using it.

HOW WILL MY CUSTOM FRAMED ARTWORK BE PACKAGED?

Simply Framed has invested in only the best shipping materials to ensure your order arrives safely.  They recently eliminated kraft wrapping paper from our frame packaging (excluding special request) to be more environmentally friendly. Your frame will ship wrapped in bubble wrap and secured inside a cardboard box with plastic bands, and will include all necessary hardware and hanging instructions.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We ship your purchased print from our studio in Rhode Island to the Simply Framed shop located in Maumee, Ohio. Once framing is completed, Simply Framed will ship directly to you at the address listed in checkout. The shipping price charged at checkout is to get your print to Ohio, after that point all shipping within the continental United States is included in the total. For international orders, please email us in advance for a shipping quote: info@jointheprintclub.com

HOW LONG DOES FRAMING TAKE?

Once Simply Framed have your art in hand they aim to ship completed frames in 3 to 5 business days. So, all in 2-3 weeks would be a safe amount of time to expect your framed print accounting for shipping time.

DOES MY FRAME HAVE TO BE WHITE?

Absolutely not! I you would like us to arrange for a different finish through Simply Framed we would be happy to. Take a look at their full selection and just let us know prior to purchase which finish you were interested in and we can provide a quote and make all the arrangements.

HOW WILL MY PIECE BE MOUNTED?

Our preference is to mount prints "floated with a spacer" with 1" of space around the print. This is a method of framing that keeps the art fully visible in the frame, beautiful paper edges and all. This gives the illusion the piece is floating within the frame either on a mat or on a foam core lift. A spacer is added to the frame to keep the artwork from touching the plexiglass.  Floating requires adhering the print to an acid free foam core back or mat using acid free linen tape

PREMIUM FRAMING:

For our Premium Framing we have worked with Boston-based fine art framers, Adjective Art & Framing to select specific framing options for each of our invited artist editions - we have chosen different stains and profiles that elevate the presentation of these special pieces.

WHAT TYPE OF FRAMES ARE USED?

Adjective builds custom-made contemporary hardwood frames for artists, collectors, galleries, and museums. Their standard line of moldings are milled from sustainably sourced hardwoods (often Ash, Maple, Walnut or Cherry) that are then custom stained or lacquered.

CAN A GET A PREMIUM FRAME THAT IS A DIFFERENT COLOR?

Absolutely! If you would like us to arrange for a different finish through Adjective we would be happy to. Take a look at their full selection and just let us know prior to purchase which finish you were interested in and we can provide a quote and make all the arrangements.

HOW WILL MY PIECE BE MOUNTED?

Our preference is to mount prints "floated with a spacer" with 0.75" of space around the print. This is a method of framing that keeps the art fully visible in the frame, beautiful paper edges and all. This gives the illusion the piece is floating within the frame either on a mat or on a foam core lift. A spacer is added to the frame to keep the artwork from touching the plexiglass.  Floating requires adhering the print to an acid free foam core back or mat using acid free linen tape.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We ship your purchased print from our studio in Sacramento to Adjective Art & Framing in Boston, MA. Once framing is completed, Adjective will ship directly to you at the address listed in checkout. The shipping price charged at checkout accounts for both of these shipments and you won’t pay anything additional. For international orders, please email us in advance for a shipping quote: info@jointheprintclub.com

Once Adjective have your art in hand they aim to ship completed frames in 2 weeks. So, all in 3-4 weeks would be a safe amount of time to expect your framed print accounting for all shipping time.

WHY PREMIUM?

We decided to offer these more elevated, hand-finished frames for our artist collaboration editions. Because Adjective builds their frames with a sturdy wooden strainer on their backside (see image below) it means that their profiles can be more narrow - a look we think is a very elegant way to present contemporary prints.

Additionally, while wood or white veneers are used in the standard framing option, all of Adjective’s pieces are hand built from solid hardwoods.
